DESCRIPTION:The Vance County Arts Council invites the community to celebrate the holiday season at its annual Tidings of Comfort and Joy Pre-Christmas Concert\, Saturday\, November 28\, 2026\, at 4:00 PM at McGregor Hall Performing Arts Center in Henderson. \nThis year marks the 10th year that the Vance County Arts Council has presented the holiday program free to the community\, continuing its commitment to making arts and cultural programming accessible to everyone. \nTidings of Comfort and Joy has become a special way for families\, friends and neighbors to come together before Christmas and enjoy an afternoon of holiday celebration at McGregor Hall. \nThe program will also feature the crowning of the 2026 Holiday Pageant winners\, adding another special community tradition to the afternoon’s festivities. \nThe Vance County Arts Council works throughout the year to bring quality multicultural arts programming to Vance County\, with a special focus on school-aged children\, at-risk youth\, adults with disabilities and the community as a whole. \nMake Tidings of Comfort and Joy part of your holiday season. \nTidings of Comfort and Joy\nSaturday\, November 28\, 2026\n4:00 PM\nMcGregor Hall Performing Arts Center\nHenderson\, North Carolina\nAdmission is free.\nBring your family and friends and join the Vance County Arts Council as we welcome the Christmas season together.

DESCRIPTION:The holiday season is just around the corner\, and the 2026 Downtown Henderson Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday\, December 5\, at 2:30 p.m. in Henderson\, North Carolina. \nThe annual parade brings the community together to celebrate the Christmas season with festive floats\, decorated vehicles\, marching bands\, local organizations\, and holiday music. \nResidents and visitors are invited to come downtown\, enjoy the festivities\, and celebrate the season with family and friends. \nParade Registration Now Open \nBusinesses\, schools\, churches\, civic organizations\, marching groups\, and other community groups interested in participating in this year’s parade are encouraged to register. \nThe registration deadline is Friday\, November 20\, 2026. All entries must submit a completed registration form\, required documentation\, and applicable entry fees by the deadline. Late entries will not be permitted. \nRegistration fees vary by entry type: \nStandard entries: $55\, including floats\, walking groups\, and vehicles. \nSchool organizations: $25 per unit\, excluding middle and high school marching bands. \nMiddle and high school marching bands: Free. \nFire trucks\, ambulances\, and military entries: Free. \nTractor-trailers and oversized trucks: $100 per entry. \nAll participating entries must feature a Christmas theme\, and each organization must display a sign or banner identifying its group. \nMotorcycles\, horses\, and three- or four-wheelers are not permitted.
