“Please Touch the Art!” A Tactile Exhibition

Arts Access Gallery’s newest exhibition “Please Touch the Art!” is on display now through December 13, 2024.

“Please Touch the Art!” is a tactile art exhibition that invites visitors to engage with creativity in an interactive way. Featuring ten unique pieces created by talented artists with disabilities, this exhibition challenges conventional notions of art appreciation, emphasizing the importance of touch and sensory experience.

Artist Calls

Arts Access Gallery Call for Textile Art

We invite artists with disabilities to submit textile-based artwork around the theme of “Renewal” that reflects their individual experiences, identities, and creative visions. Whether you work with weaving, embroidery, quilting, fabric painting, knitting, crochet, or other textile techniques, we want to celebrate your work.

This exhibition will be juried by textile artist and designer of modern quilts, Michelle Wilkie.
This exhibition will be on view at the Arts Access Gallery January 3 through March 21, 2025.

Community Art Exhibit January 2025

The long-anticipated 2nd Annual Community Art Exhibition is here! Leela Foundation invites all Triangle-based artists to submit their work for this year’s exhibition. South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships for Visual Arts

The South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships acknowledge, support, and celebrate the highest quality artistic work being created in the American South. The program is open to individual artists living in the South Arts region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

The Southern Prize and State Fellowships for Literary Arts

The Southern Prize and State Fellowships for Literary Arts support, acknowledge, and celebrate writers in our nine-state region with $80,000 in awards. The genre for the 2025 cycle is Poetry.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation

The Pollock-Krasner Foundation welcomes, throughout the year, applications from visual artists who are painters, sculptors and artists who work on paper, including printmakers. There are no deadlines. Grants are intended for a one-year period of time. The Foundation will review expenditures relating to an artist’s professional work and personal expenses and amounts range up to $50,000. The size of the grant is determined by the individual circumstances of the artist.

The Awesome Foundation

The Awesome Foundation Disability Chapter is an entirely volunteer-run and 100% disability led economic justice initiative launched in 2017 by Alice Wong and Tiffany Yu. Monthly they award a $1,000 grant to an artist with a disability. Apply for a grant on their website. Make sure to check back often.

United Arts 2025 IDEAL Summer Internship Program

Applications for the 2025 IDEAL Summer Internship are now live! This program offers a unique opportunity for diverse and emerging arts leaders to kickstart their careers in arts administration. This program provides undergraduate students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in arts leadership with valuable experiences. Interns participate in professional development, networking activities, and join a cohort that serves as a strong foundation for their careers.
