Visual Art / Universal Access Artist in Residence
Artspace initiated the Universal Access Artist Residency program in 2018 for artists who identify as having a disability.
The month-long residency provides funding, studio space, and professional support for a national artist to produce a solo
exhibition immediately following the residency. Residents will work in the gallery where their work will be exhibited and
may actively contribute to Artspace’s artistic and educational programming. While this contribution is encouraged, the main
goal of this residency is to provide the resident with the space and opportunity to devote themselves to their creative
practice. The deadline is April 7, 2026.
Performing Arts / Mallarmé Music Dynamic Duo Series
Mallarmé Music invites professional musicians to perform in their Dynamic Duo Series, a series of short concerts to be
presented live around Durham, beginning in June 2026. Instrumentalists and vocalists from all musical genres are welcome
to apply, and chosen duos will receive $1,000 for their performance. Mallarmé Music seeks to showcase local musical talent
and expand on the style and genre of their usual programming, so ensembles will be chosen on the basis both of performance
skill and the proposed program. The deadline is April 10, 2026.
Film / Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers
Southern Circuit invites filmmakers and screening partners to be part of a journey that connects independent films to audiences
who are ready to listen, reflect, and connect on the next season of the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers.
Southern Circuit collaborates with a network of screening partner venues and filmmakers to share the transformative power of
independent films with communities across the South. Filmmakers will be paid to tour with their feature-length documentary films,
participate in post-screening question and answer sessions, and lead conversations through educational, social, and press engagements.
The deadline is April 10, 2026.
Craft & Visual Art / 2026 Juneteenth Jubilee
Cool Spring Downtown District (CSDD), in Fayetteville, is delighted to present the annual Juneteenth Jubilee, a community celebration
honoring Black American contributions to history, arts, culture, and more. CSDD invites artists to participate in the festival as vendors.
They seek to showcase Black-owned and other locally-owned small businesses and creative, enterprising entrepreneurs offering a wide range
of high-quality goods. The deadline is April 19, 2026.
Public Art / Piedmont Triad International Airport
The Piedmont Triad Airport Authority (PTAA) invites artists to apply for exhibition opportunities at Piedmont Triad International Airport
in 2026–2027. PTAA seeks two-dimensional artwork, photography, mixed media, small three-dimensional works, and large-scale outdoor sculpture.
All artwork will be loaned to PTAA for a one-year exhibition period, and artwork labels will include the artist’s name and contact information
to allow the public to inquire directly. Selected 2D and small 3D artists will receive a $100 honorarium. Outdoor sculptors will receive
$2,000 to offset the cost of transporting and installing their work. The deadline is April 20, 2026.
