Student Collaborative American Flag Art Project
Students are invited to create a small artwork that will become part of a large collaborative American flag made from student artwork.
Each piece will represent an individual perspective while contributing to a larger shared design.
Guidelines
- Paper Size
- Artwork must be created on 5 inch × 5 inch paper.
- Paper may be plain white paper or colored construction paper.
- Original Artwork Only
- All artwork must be hand-drawn or hand-painted.
- Digital artwork or printed images are not allowed.
- Artwork Theme
- Your drawing should represent one of the following ideas:
- What being American means to you
- Something you love about the United States
- Something you would change or improve about the United States
- Your drawing should represent one of the following ideas:
- Content
- The artwork should include a clear picture or visual idea.
- Use color whenever possible so your artwork stands out in the final flag.
- Student Information
- On the back of the paper, write:
- Your name
- Your grade
- Your school name
- A short sentence explaining your artwork
- On the back of the paper, write:
- Keep the Edges Clean
- Please leave a small blank border around the edges so the pieces can be assembled neatly into the final flag display.
Eligibility
The contest is open to elementary, middle, and high school students.
Deadline
- All artwork must be submitted by April 13, 2026
- Turn in your artwork to your teacher or school principal.
Contest Prizes
Cash prizes will be awarded for the best art pieces.
Every square becomes part of a larger artwork representing the voices and ideas of our students.
