The North Carolina Arts Council has made available a support grant to local artists in the Vance and surrounding counties.

  3. The grant is open to resident N.C. artists in all disciplines, from traditional to contemporary and established to emerging.
    1. The grant can be used to support a range of professional and artistic development;
    2. Creation of new work;
    3. Improvement of business operations;
    4. Marketing/expanding capacity to reach new audiences;
    5. Artist fees.
    6. The new grant program builds on the success of the 30-year old Regional Artists Project program but has been expanded to serve all 100 N.C. counties through a consortium of local arts council partners.

5.The program responds to the impact of the pandemic on artists by ensuing the artists and the state’s arts infrastructure have the resources needed to help North Carolina make a strong recovery.

Artists in all disciplines are eligible to apply for grants to support their professional and artistic development through a partnership of the North Carolina Arts Council and the Vance County Arts Council, Warren County Arts Council, Halifax County Arts Council, and Franklin County Arts Council.

Artist Support Grants will be distributed to eligible applicants by the local Arts Council in the following counties: Vance, Warren, Halifax, Northampton, Franklin, and Granville Counties.

Applications for the grants are available at  www.ncarts.org/artist-support-grant. The deadline is October 1, 2020. Grants will range in awards from $500 to $1,200.

Emerging or established artists are encouraged to apply to support a range of professional and artistic development including the creation of work, improvement of business operations, or expanding capacity to bring work to new audiences. Artist fees are also allowable expenses.

We are honored to work with several counties in this new consortium of rural counties. It gives us an opportunity to impact local artists in ways we haven’t been able to before.
